Andrew Stott joined Stage27 in 2006 and has played a number of interesting characters. Andrew has performed the role of Frodo in a Lord of The Rings Dramatisation with Shire Productions as part of The Tolkien Weekend at Sarehole Mill in May 2009 and has become a frequent Director with the Group. Stepping into the breach with only three weeks notice, he played the part of Scrooge in the Group's Production of a 'A Christmas Twist' in December 2009. He is currently directing Stage 27's next Production - 'Bums On Seats' at The Old Rep Theatre in July 2010.

 

Helen Whitby (Marketing & Secretary) joined the Group in 2006 after being told it would be great experience due to her passion of the Arts. She is responsible for advertising, promotions and design & front of house, and hopes to get more involved in acting in the future. A new member of the Birmingham Theatre & District Guild, Helen is keen to learn more about the world of Amateur Dramatics.
Enid Smitten (Treasurer) is now the longest standing member of the Company. She has appeared in many Productions, has tried her hand at directing, and assists both backstage and Front of House at current Productions.

 

Laura Ashfield joined the Group in 2006, and has played many interesting and varied roles. Laura left to travel around Australia in 2008, but has returned and performed in the 2008 Production of The Grimm Tales. She performed the role of Galadriel with Shire Productions as part of The Tolkien Weekend at Sarehole Mill in May 2009 and as Little Orphan Annie in Stage 27's 2009 Christmas Production - 'A Christmas Twist'. Laura is currently rehearsing for the Group's next Production - 'Bums On Seats'.

 

 

 

Brian Morris (Stage Manager)joined Stage 27 in 2003 and is
an avid performer on the stage. Roles have ranged from playing a Spanish Duke to a weasel. Brian also counts set-design and backstage work amongst his talents, and performed the role of Saramon as part of Shire Productions at The Tolkien Weekend at Sarehole Mill in 2009. Brian will also be taking part in a dramatisation for the 2010 Sarehole Mill Event. Brian also directed 'Crossing The Bar' that went on to represent Birmingham in the Quarter Final of the All England Theatre Festival in April 2010.


Galia Bouhayed (Assistant Stage Manager) is a lesser spotted wingless near-sighted bird from Leeds often seen flapping around backstage with a torch and script. Galia joined in November 2005 to 'help out' but is an invaluable member and now finds herself charged with creating our amazing sets & costume, and generally being the backbone of the Group.

 

Gareth Lloyd joined the Group in February 2009 and assisted backstage in the Group's 2009 Production of 'Black Widow'. He also appeared as Bob Cratchett in Stage 27's Christmas Production of 'A Christmas Twist in December 2010. He is currently rehearsing for Stage 27's July 2010 Production of 'Bums On Seats' at The Old Rep Theatre, and is also assisting the Marketing Officer with Marketing and Publicity for both the Group and it's Productions.

 

Jenny Patrick joined Stage 27 in early 2009, and has appeared in 'Black Widow' and 'A Christmas Twist' with the Group in July and December 2009 respectively. A newcomer to the world of Amateur Dramatics, Jenny shines on stage, and is currently rehearsing for 'Bums On Seats' in 2010 at The Old Rep Theatre.

 

 

Kay Chamroo joined Stage 27 in 2008, and performed a number of roles in The Grimm Tales. She is a Nurse, runs her own Theatre Company (Shire Productions), and has recently performed with them during The Tolkien Weekend at Sarehole Mill & Moseley Bog in May 2009). Kay directed the 2009 Christmas Production of 'A Christmas Twist', and is currently rehearsing for 'Bums On Seats in July 2010.

 

 

 

Darren Sommerill initially joined the group in 2003 and has recently re-joined after a stint working abroad. He has held a number of roles within previous Productions. He performed at The Tolkien Weekend at Saremole Mill in May 2009, playing the role of Sam the Hobbit, and will be participating in the 2010 Event. Darren is currently rehearsing for his part in 'Bums On Seats' in July 2010, and is co-ordinating the technical requirements for the Show.

 

Frank Kyne joined Stage 27 in 2009, having written a Murder Mystery for his cousin's 30th Birthday and deciding he'd like to try another avenue in the world of Drama. A timber-roof designer, Frank enjoys sport, music, reading and playing Scrabble (at seperate interludes). Frank was voted into the position of Chairman in the 2010 Stage 27 Annual General Meeting, and is keen to take the Group forward. He took part inStage 27's Production of 'Crossing The Bar', which went on to represent Birmingham in the Quarter Final of the All England Theatre Festival in April 2010. Frank is currently rehearsing for 'Bums On Seats'.

 

Svanhild Adhal joined the Group in 2009. A translator by profession, Svan hails from Europe, and has acted in Amateur Dramatics Groups in Finland and Norway. Svan performed in Stage 27's Production of 'A Christmas Twist in December 2o09, and played the part of Gretchen in Stage 27's Production of 'Crossing The Bar', which went on to represent Birmingham in the Quarter Final of the All England Theatre Festival in April 2010. Svan is currently rehearsing for the Group's July Production of 'Bums On Seats'.

 

Louise Snape joined Stage 27 in Summer 2009. An A Level Student, Louise studies Drama amongst other subjects and was eager to join a local Amateur Dramatics Group before starting University in 2010. She played the role of the Ghost of Christmas Present in Stage 27's Production of 'A Christmas Twist' in December 2009. She is currently rehearsing for her role in the Group's Production of 'Bums On Seats' at The Old Rep Theatre in July 2010 before leaving to attend University in the Autumn.
